E-Mails From the Edge
About Me

This is as difficult here as it was for Match.com. I don’t know what to say that doesn’t sound standardized or like a police report. Tall, Caucasian female, middle aged, good sense of humor from a dysfunctional family that is the source of many stories. Oh, and of course attractive.

I decided that didn’t sound too appealing for either this site or Match.com. I turned to my friends for help. Apparently they don’t know how to describe me either because my request was met with silence. If it weren’t for the crickets I would have thought I had been struck deaf.

So maybe it’s better if I tell you why I started “e-mails from the edge”. A few years ago when I felt it was time for some major changes I went back to school; signed up at the local community college and got a job working in a sleep clinic three very long, tiring nights a week. When I wasn’t at school, the school library, work or asleep at my desk I tried to keep in touch with friends.

That came in the form of e-mails that let them know I was still alive and breathing as well as what it was like to be 40, newly single, in school and paying the bills by attaching electrodes to strangers bodies and watching them sleep while I downed Red Bull and caffeine pills. My friends seemed to enjoy the e-mails and encouraged me to write more.

After a few jobs-that-couldn’t-pay-the-bills, I was tired of living in poverty and rejoined the 9-5 work force. I started a book (writing not reading) and occasionally wrote an e-mail from the edge. The comments I have received made me think there might be more people who would enjoy my idle thoughts on life.

That has been the birth of emailsfromtheedge.com.

I hope you enjoy and feel free to leave comments.
